Meghan Welch
Veterinarian
Veterinary Medicine chose Dr. Meg Welch when she was ten years old, read All Creatures Great and Small, and decided to grow up to be James Herriot. She started work in small animal rescue at age fourteen and the years flew by up to her graduation from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine with a focus on feline medicine. From there, after a handful of years in practice, she opened her own cat hospital in the Baltimore area, where she thrived for fourteen years before making another change--she fed her passion for TNR, rescue, and helping the hardest-hit, most forgotten feline friends and ferals by becoming a spay/neuter ninja in Pennsylvania. Having checked out every corner of our state in the last ten years, she's returned back to settle in Central PA and lay bricks on the path to her next big thing by joining the team at Berwick Veterinary Care Center.
Outside work, Dr. Meg spends time doing whatever puts a twinkle in her eye. She writes fiction, non-fiction, and songs. She's performed at open mics with her guitar and a few good friends. Her travels following her favorite band have resulted in a concert photography passion and more adventures in more places than she can count. Hiking is her favorite outdoor activity--and she's got Kilimanjaro in her sights. Even with her love of travel and adventure, she's always happy to be home snuggling with her three cats--Kipling, Ashley, and Connery--and puttering around the house and yard.
She's looking forward to this next chapter, building relationships with clients and their furry families, and building a life around helping animals thrive!
